A visit from the Community Dental Hygienist.
We had a visit from Melanie today. She is a dental hygienist and talked to us about the importance of keeping our teeth healthy. Our teeth are so important for eating, smiling and talking or singing. We talked about brushing our teeth twice a day and how important it is to make sure we clean every tooth. We also had a chat about the best foods and drinks for our teeth. Melanie brought her friend Elliot with her. He had lovely teeth. Some of us helped him to brush them to get them even cleaner. Melanie very kindly brought packs for all the boys and girls to take home with them. They now have a new toothbrush, toothpaste and a timer to make sure they brush for two minutes each time! They also got a chart to keep track of their great brushing and a picture to colour in. She was so impressed by how well the boys and girls listened and answered her questions that she also gave them special stickers at the end too! We will be starting our Happy Smiles Programme with the boys and girls in nursery very soon. They will get their own toothbrush and brush their teeth after their snack every day.
