Anti Bullying Week
This week in school we are participating in Anti-Bullying Week 2024 which takes place from Monday 11th - Friday 15th November. The theme for this year is Choose Respect.
Today at a specially convened Assembly, Mrs Dorrian introduced the theme of this year's Anti Bullying Week and we discussed the many different ways we can show and give respect to everyone.
Throughout this week we will seek to empower our pupils to not resort to bullying, even when we disagree and remind adults to lead by example, online and offline. Imagine a world where respect and kindness thrives — it’s not just a dream, it's in the choices we make. We encourage you to join us this Anti-Bullying Week and commit to 'Choose Respect'. What will you choose? Visit https://anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/anti-bullying-week-2024-choose-respect for more information.
We have a number of activities and lessons planned to help us address the whole area of bullying and to ensure that it has no place within our school. It starts with our annual Homework Poster competition whereby all pupils are challenged to create a poster, at home, around the theme of 'Choose Respect.' These are to be returned to school by Wednesday 13th November 2024. The winning posters will be put on display to remind us all about our role and responsibilities for showing and giving respect around our school.
We have our annual Odd Socks Day on Tuesday 12th November and Wednesday 13th November is World Kindness Day and all pupils are encouraged to come to school in brightly styled clothes or to have a 'Crazy Hair Day.'
A leaflet is attached which outlines how you, as a parent, can prevent and respond to bullying type behaviour and how to report any concerns.
Stay tuned to our school website for more updates throughout this week.
