Autumn Learning
This week, we focused on Autumnal colours and vocabulary. In Art, we created paintings and collages of acorns, as well as mixed medium work of the fireworks. The children created some wonderful artwork. We also explored massive pumpkins, and used tools to carve shapes and texture into slices. It was so much fun when we used dinosaurs to investigate the pumpkins. As a fun sensory experience, we gathered items we could see, smell, taste, hear and feel - though we didn’t like the taste of apple puffs. In Numeracy, we were working on addition to 10/20 and the children enjoyed the games. The children loved playing a guessing game, where they needed to figure out ‘What am I?’, using riddles and clues. We finished our week with a PowerPoint and video all about Autumn and used our new autumnal-vocabulary to describe all the signs of Autumn. Next week, we are going to be learning about animal hibernation during November and December, and how we can prepare for the winter.
