Over the summertime, the Library Service organised a Big Summer Read initiative to encourage pupils to continue to develop the essential skill of reading. A large number our pupils participated in this and we are delighted to announce that our school won the overall trophy for the most number of books read by a local school. Our pupils read a total of 330 books. Accepting the trophy on behalf of the school are Nicole and Cara, who between them read over 60 books during the summer. Well done to all involved and thank you to Portaferry Library Service for organising this. Remember to visit the Library often to replenish and encourage your child to read.
