Brilliant Learning in P4!🌟
Primary Four came back to school after the half-term break full of enthusiasm and fully motivated to take on their new topics. They have immersed themselves in their new whole class book; ‘The Owl who was afraid of the Dark’ by predicting outcomes and completing a range of verbal and written comprehension pieces in class.
During Numeracy, the children learned a new strategy for subtraction called ‘Decomposition’. They used the column method to solve a range of two digit number problems. They are learning a little poem called the ‘Subtraction Poem’ to help them to remember all the different stages and processes they need to check to complete each calculation.
Their new WAU topic ‘What a Waste!’ was a big hit too. They helped to create a large interactive display in the classroom for each type of waste product. They also examined the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling in our environment through the bbc bitesize series ‘The Regenerators’.
For Grow in Love, it has been all about Jesus helping people this week, specifically Jairus’ daughter Abigail. The boys and girls enjoyed the story and breaking the code activity in their booklets. Well done P4!🌟
