Bugs on the WEB-site 🐛🪱🦋🐝🐞
This week, we had a wonderful time engaging our senses with the tuff tray. The children in SP1 had a tuff tray filled with wobbly jelly, chocolate sprinkles and intriguing mini beasts. This hands on experience allowed them to explore their senses by smelling and tasting the jelly, as well as investigating the tactile quality of the materials. This encouraged their curiosity, imagination, and fine motor skills. The children particularly enjoyed the colourful assortment of bugs and using tweezers, the had to rescue the bugs from the spider web.
In addition, the children also expressed their creativity through a butterfly themed art activity. Using paint, they made beautiful prints of butterfly wings, marvelling at the symmetry of the patterns. In numeracy, we looked at symmetry and they were able to connect their numeracy knowledge with this activity.
Though this was messy, the children loved exploring these sensory play activities.
