Busy summer days in P4🌞🌻🦋
As we approach the end of term, it has been busier than ever for our P4 boys and girls with assessments and Accelerated Reader star tests, Sports Day, taking part in Copper Wars, Farm Safety talks, updating Mathletics and completing their World Around Us topic with lots of bug hunting, planting of fruit, vegetable and flower seeds as well as lots and lots of revision of Maths and English areas.
The children have shown great teamwork and are even making their very own mini greenhouse and bug hotel. They discussed their projects in detail, nominated roles and changed things along the way to make the outcome even better. They have planted everything from tomato seeds to lettuce seeds and radish seeds to strawberry seeds to name but a few. As they watched the seeds sprout in the little greenhouse, they noticed that condensation within it was helping to water the seeds. Sustainability and conservation for sure with the plants needing less water from the tap.
Mrs O’Neill is just delighted with all the progress and will have a treat or two organised over the next while to celebrate the end of Key Stage One. A big thank you to all the P4 parents for keeping on top of all the home learning over the year too. It would be great if all remaining P4 blue ‘New Wave’ textbooks could be returned to class as P4 are stocktaking for next year.
