Earth Day In Primary Five
22nd Apr 2024
Today Primary Five took to the shores of Strangford Lough to carry out a birdwatching activity. The children were surprised at how many birds that we spotted along the way. The children predicted that the most common birds would be crows and seagulls. They recorded their results in the form of a tally chart and bar charts. The children’s predictions were correct and some spotted up to 40 seagulls. In addition to this, we carried out a beach clean and were surprised at how much waste was on the shore. Lots of cross curricular learning linked to our locality and Eco topic of Waste. We look forward to further opportunities for a deeper beach clean when the weather improves.
