Eco Week - Day 2 ♻️
Today the Eco Council had a special, meeting in our outdoor classroom. First on the agenda was naming our new eco mascot. The mascot has been given to us by Iain, our Sustrans active travel officer. We thought that we should name our mascot after a famous Eco Warrior and decided to name him ‘David’ or David Atten-bear, after the most famous of all the Eco warriors.
We also discussed the litter in the playgrounds and our P4, 5 and 6 representatives Volunteered to do a lunch time litter pick. We were pleased that today, very little litter was found!
Finally, we talked about how we can encourage others in our class to take part in Eco Week. Tomorrow we will be helping to reduce our carbon footprint by reducing our waste with ‘Waste Free Wednesday lunch’. We also hope that a few more of the older pupils will make an extra effort to walk to school.
We also can’t wait to celebrate 10 years of the Daily Mile, as we join lots of other schools in completing a special daily Mile on Thursday.
