Friday Celebrations - Friday 30th August 2024.

30th Aug 2024

We gathered together again this morning as a school community for our first school Assembly for this new school year. The theme for this Assembly was 'New Beginnings' and we discussed our hopes, dreams and ambitions for this new year in school.
During our Assembly it was great to celebrate the many successes our pupils had over the summer period. In Primary 3 Evie started swimming lessons and Carragh and Aoibheann performed Irish Dancing during Gala Week while Lucie in Primary 4 completed all of her swimming exams. Callie in Primary 5 won medals for Irish Dancing at the Holywood Festival, Caoimhe won 2 golds and a silver medal in gymnastics, Jessie was Player of the Week for soccer and he tells us he scored many goals during the summer and Gwen was Judo Player of the Week. Oscar, Alex and Logan of Primary 6 won medals for Portaferry Town Boys, Isla won an Irish Dancing Shield and Maebh won a show jumping competition. Finally in Primary 7 Brooke won medals for Irish Dancing, Aoibheann completed an Irish Dancing training camp and performed for Riverdance and Evan was part of an Irish traditional music group who are Ulster champions and competed in this years All Ireland Fleadh.
We also celebrated with our various Under 8, 10 and 12 Hurling and Camogie teams who competed in various blitzes, leagues and championships over the summer.
I think you will agree we really have a very talented group of pupils and we look forward to celebrating our pupils successes and achievements throughout this year in school.
