Green day in P3! ☘️

14th Mar 2025
Today in P3 we celebrated ‘green day’ along with the rest of the school. To mark the occasion, we learned all about St. Patrick and heard the story of ‘Patrick’s fire’.

As we have been learning all about colour in art, we learned the words for all of the different colours in Irish and played some games to help remember them!

Mrs Fowler then read us the Dr. Seuss story, ‘Thing one, Thing Two and the Leprechaun’. In the story we heard how Thing one and Thing two attempted to catch a leprechaun. Inspired by this we then completed a STEM activity where we had to build a leprechaun trap. We used cubes to support a pulley system and then decorated a net of a cuboid, which we attached to string. We then placed some gold coins underneath to help lure the leprechaun to our trap. We have them all set up and hope to catch a leprechaun this weekend!

Finally, we had a special assembly where some of the girls from P3 performed. Nancy played a Bodhrán solo and Lucia played the tin whistle. After this, Aoibheann, Caragh, Rebecca and Lucia showed off their Irish dancing skills in a reel! So much talent in Primary 3!
