Happy mid-term P4! 🌟💕🦋

5th Feb 2025

Primary Four started the week with ‘Safer Internet Day’. They learned all about how wonderful a learning tool the internet can be but that parental controls for games and apps are so important too. They learned the importance of age appropriate games, videos and pop-ups. They learned about the importance of asking a trusted adult for help if they are ever scared, worried or confused about what appears on their screens. The P4 digital leaders; Hollie and Dara talked about online scams in class and they spoke about scams and online safety at assembly with all the other digital leaders. The boys and girls learned not to share personal information, photographs or inappropriate messages on the net.

This week, P4 also celebrated National Lego Day by making lots of Lego creations and looking at the Lego information, videos and puzzles on the c2k Newsdesk. They discussed the benefits of Lego and how it helps with imagination, creativity, problem solving and teamwork. P4 had a special visit from some P7 girls this week who helped out with problem solving skills. They were amazing Maths Buddies and true 'STEM GEMS'. P4 hope to see them again. They showed great leadership and patience as they helped explain the activities. Mrs O’Neill has high hopes that they may enter the teaching profession as primary or secondary Maths or even STEM subject teachers!

There was a lot of art, crafts and WAU in P4 this week as the class continued to research their ‘Minibeasts’ topic with a read-along fact book on the interactive board, made Minibeast masks and put together a little Valentines surprise to take home. Have a lovely mid-term P4. Don’t forget about Mathletics!🌟
