Maths Week will take place in school from 14th-18th October. Pupils, parents, teachers and assistants are all asked to get involved to promote Mathematics & Numeracy in a positive way. We have many exciting activities planned with lots of active learning, problem solving, outdoor maths and online learning for every year group.
Parents, have a look at www.mathsweek.ie and www.familymathstoolkit.org.uk for lots of ideas on developing Mathematics & Numeracy as a family as well as strategies to help support your child as they navigate their Mathematical learning journey.
Parents and pupils, you are also encouraged to work together to complete our daily maths puzzles; some of which will have definite numerical answers and others which will stimulate a lot of ‘Maths Talk’, discussion and have more open-ended solutions. The puzzles are detailed below and paper copies may be distributed too. Answers can be brought into school the next day and placed in the KS1/KS2 Maths Boxes. There will be certificates and prizes galore!

In addition to this, our P3-P7 pupils are encouraged to log on to Mathletics a little more this week to explore all the wonderful activities, challenges, workbooks and apps that are so beneficial to school and home learning. Watch this space for lots of photos and updates from each class.
