P5 have been learning about the process of mummification as part out our WAU topic ‘Ancient Egypt’. We used a similar technique as the ancient Egyptians and mixed salt and bicarbonate soda to make our very own ‘natron’. This mixtures draws the water content out of the apples and dries them out. Ancient Egyptians also did this with Pharaoh’s bodies when they died.
