Mystery Readers in P1 👨🏼🏫 👩🏫
To celebrate World Book Day 📚, P1 came into school in their jammies and slippers for some special bedtime stories read by some mystery readers. Mrs Breen pulled the blinds and lit some lamps to make the atmosphere nice and cosy. We snuggled up on the carpet under our blankets and pillows to await our mystery guests...
First up was Anna’s Granny who read us a lovely story about a little chick. 🐣 We loved it because we are learning about baby animals being born in the Spring.
Next came Patrick’s mummy who read us a funny story about a wide mouthed frog, and one of Mrs Breen’s favourites, The tale of Peter Rabbit. 🐰
Isla-Rose couldn’t believe it when her mum was the next reader to arrive at the door! She read us the story of Neligan’s pig who jumped in the pond even though pigs don’t swim. We laughed when all the other animals jumped in too. 🐖
Our last guest travelled all the way from the Primary 7 classroom upstairs! Mr Denvir read us a big book called Lazy Ozzie, about an owl 🦉 who tried to play a trick on his Mum. Mr Denvir loved reading to us and said he can’t wait to come back some other day! We will keep reminding him so he doesn’t forget. 😁
A big thank you to all the volunteers - Primary 1 just loved the bedtime stories 📚
