Nursery’s Trip to Exploris!

19th Feb 2025

On Wednesday 19th February, the boys and girls in Nursery went on a special outing to the aquarium!  There was lots of excitement!  We packed so much in to our visit.  We have been learning about penguins, so we loved seeing them up close, watching them walk about, swim and take big jumps out of the water!  The seals came over to say hello to us.  The verdict of the underwater tunnel was that it was ‘so cool’!  The shark seemed to follow Mrs Birt about though and seemed to enjoy swimming over her head! Blair brought us to the touch tank and told us all about the starfish.  Some of us touched it when he passed it around!  We found out lots of facts about it and the kids thought Blair was really funny! We loved seeing the crocodile, turtles, snake, lizards and lots more.  One of our favourite parts of the trip was getting to use The Marine Machine!  The children coloured in some sea creatures.  When they were finished, the put it into a special machine, pressed a button and the creature they had coloured appeared on the big screen!  They loved this!  After all this activity, we headed to the café for our snack!  The boys and girls loved looking out over the outdoor area as they ate and drank.  We had a fantastic trip today.  Thank you so much to the staff at Exploris Aquarium for looking after us so well!
