Our trip to the Ulster Museum
We had a fantastic day out at the Ulster Museum along with Primary 5.
When we arrived at the museum we were greeted with a grey squirrel walking across our path! Our first stop was an Egyptians workshop where we got to learn about and handle some Egyptian artefacts. The guide was impressed with our knowledge of these artefacts and their use. Then we became detectives and had to work as a team to study artefacts and clues to figure out the job of the Egyptian that used them. We spotted tools for mummification and for applying make up.
Then it was our turn to visit ‘Discover Art’ where our guide taught us how to sketch a still life art piece without lifting our pencil off the page.
After lunch we had some free time to view the rest of the museum. The highlight of our trip was seeing the mummy of Takabuti and the artefacts found in her burial tomb.
We had a very enjoyable day, it was great to see so many things we have learned about in real life!
