As part of our topic on autumn, we read the story of the Little Red Hen. We were really interested to find out about how to make bread just like the Little Red hen, so first we turned our role play area into Puddinglane Bakery. We made our own dough using flour and sold all sorts of bread, pastries and cakes.
In P1 we really love pizza, and when we discovered that flour is used to make pizza bases, we thought it would be a great idea to change the bakery into a Pizza Parlour. We know pizza comes from Italy and you can have lots of interesting toppings. People in Italy speak a different language called Italian which means they sound different to us when they speak. We also found out that the Italian colours are green, white and red. Mrs Breen says we are going to make our own pizzas, cook them in the school kitchen and eat them all up.... watch this space!
