P4 celebrate ‘World Book Week’
Primary Four celebrated ‘World Book Week’ with a lovely visit to Portaferry Library. They met the librarians who had dressed up as Gangsta Granny and Little Red Riding Hood for them. They took part in a fabulous quick fire quiz with questions about popular books and amazing characters. Mrs O’Neill was very impressed with how many questions they answered correctly. The librarian also read a charming story about a little girl called ‘Little Red READING Hood’ who just loved reading lots of the very best classic stories. P4 also found out about the process of borrowing and returning books from the Library Service. Those children without library cards were given a special application form to take home so that they could enjoy the library even more.
Back at school the children discussed their favourite books and designed their favourite book covers. They examined the c2K Newsdesk and talked about how reading helps everyone to learn so many new things in lots of subjects. They also talked about how reading helps boys and girls to use their imaginations and to relax in mindful ways. Well done P4! Keep up the fantastic reading at home and in school.🌟📚
