P4 Prepare, Prepare!
P4 have been so busy preparing for the term ahead. Lots of 1x, 2x tables and 3x tables have permeated their classroom and homes in recent days. Mrs O’Neill is just delighted at how quickly the boys and girls are learning their tables lists and working out so many mental maths calculations 'in their heads'. Keep learning those 3x tables this week everyone!
For spellings this week, it is all about the ‘i’ sound made using i, y, ui, e, and ie. For writing, it has been about stretching out those sentences written at home and in class by using conjunctions (connecting words) like... and, but, because, since, although etc using their new Collins Grammar, Vocabulary and Punctuation books.
During WAU, the children continued their theme by planning and designing techno castles on the iPads. They also enjoyed catching up and exploring their P4 Mathletics activities during Goldentime last Friday.
Their ‘P4 Skip-a-thon’ is the focus in PE as they try to beat their skipping record each week. Try skipping at home to improve all the different techniques and work on your record too.
Finally, with the imminent P4 ‘Do this in Memory of Me’ enrolment mass on Saturday at 6.30pm, the class have been busy learning about ‘The Last Supper’ in preparation for First Holy Communion later in the year. Keep up the great work everyone!🌟
