P4 SKIP-A-THON for Trocaire🏆
Over the past few weeks P4 have been learning how to skip in a number of ways. They began by learning how to hold the rope or hoop correctly, how to bring the rope or hoop up over their bodies and then how to jump over the rope or hoop in quick succession. As they became more proficient, they progressed from jump skipping on two feet to one foot, skipping forwards or backwards on the spot then around the gym and finally on to skipping with a partner. Some even managed to skip by criss crossing the rope! A big thank you to the P4 parents for helping to build skipping skills at home as well as their support with sponsorship of the SKIP-A-THON which has raised some vital funds for Trocaire. A magnificent number of skips was achieved and speed was definitely of the essence. Mrs O’Neill was delighted with the results and hopes the boys and girls will continue to enjoy skipping as part of their health, wellbeing, coordination, balance and fitness routine.
