P4 ‘Stop the Clock!’
As well as working on their Number topics, P4 have been learning to tell the time in analogue and digital ways. They really enjoyed using their own mini clocks, the class clock and our interactive whiteboard ‘Stop the Clock’ games. By the end of P4 we are hoping that all the boys and girls will be able to tell the time in all ‘five minute intervals’. A little inexpensive wristwatch with hands will really help develop these skills as well as talking about time at home on both digital and analogue clocks.
For Literacy P4 are working on the alphabet; sequencing the letters, naming them, forming them and putting words in alphabetical order. They have been investigating this by using dictionaries and some of our lovely new Literacy textbooks.
P4 also enjoyed delving into their ‘Rescue at Sea’ WAU topic this week when they found out some of the very exciting jobs of the RNLI and how important it is to stay safe when at the beach or shore. Our intriguing WAU class novel ‘Lighthouse Joey’ is also proving a popular read during Quiet Reading Time.
‘Friendship’ is our focus for Grow In Love and P4 have been talking about what it takes to be a good friend. They have also just begun to think about Jesus’ special friends who became his apostles. Such lovely artwork is being produced for ‘Grow In Love’. Well done P4!
