As part of their World Around Us topic ‘Rescue at Sea’, Primary Four visited Portaferry Lifeboat Station today. They took part in a Water Safety workshop, talked to the lifeboat crew, tried on some of their kit, got into the real Blue Peter V lifeboat and examined lots of photographs and historical evidence about rescues in the past. John, Heather and Molly were wonderful, helpful facilitators at the Lifeboat Station. Mrs O’Neill and Mary were so proud of everyone as they knew so much about their topic and showed superb communication skills and manners. Mrs O’Neill thinks that the class have definitely been inspired and hopes that some of them will join Portaferry Lifeboat crew in the future.
