There was great excitement in P4 today as the boys and girls took part in lots of World Maths Day problem-solving in class and in the computer suite. Lots of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, doubles, near doubles and fractions popped up as the children competed to get the answers correct and gain points. Mrs O’Neill presented the class with their Mathletics certificates for taking part in the event.
They also watched the very famous Mr P talk about the importance of Maths in his World Maths Day Numeracy & ICT video. He talked about the importance of Maths skills in the ‘real world’ of school and in the workplace, in sport, in coding, in construction and science. He is a strong advocate of Mathletics and how it helps all areas of learning.
World Maths Day continues into the evening. It would be great if parents could log on with their child and continue to explore Mathletics together.
