Today in P6 we found ourselves in a real life problem solving question.
Unfortunately due to bad weather, we needed to postpone our whole school daily mile event. So Miss Green had lots of oranges going spare... but when life gives you oranges... turn it in to a maths lesson!
We used our knowledge of fractions and weight along with out times table skills to work out a number of problems. What does one individual orange weigh? What is the total weight of all the oranges? How many oranges would be needed per class? What fraction should we divide the orange up in to? We also had a nice treat at the end!
