Primary six and seven had a lovely morning at the Portico on Friday. As part of European Heritage day and the Heritage Fest in Portaferry, we were invited to a workshop about Portaferry’s ship building and rope making past. The children were a captive audience when Bridget, the Outreach Education officer from Down Museum was delivering her talk. They also were given a tour of the Portico by Paula and Verity… and even got a chance to play the organ which was very loud indeed!!
