On the last day of term, Primary Seven created Halloween lava lamps. We discussed the properties of oil and water and why they do not mix. We also witnessed a chemical reaction when the carbon in the effervescent tablet hit the water. We learned that the bubbles happened when the carbon and water mixed to release carbon dioxide.
