We have been learning all about Minibeasts 🪱🐛🦋🐌🐞🐜🪰🪲🪳🦟🦗🕷🕸and growing things 🌱🌿🪴🌺 so we invited Vikki from ‘Plant and Play’ to come and give us a special workshop.
Vikki began by giving us a Bug Quiz. She was amazed at all the things we knew and how many Minibeasts we recognised. We got all the answers right!
Next she showed us her real live Minibeasts and we got to hold and examine them using big magnifying glasses. She had baby snails which we thought were so cute, centipedes and baby slugs.
Then it was time to plant some peas. We got a small cardboard pot, some soil and peas. We will water them when we get them home so the pot doesn’t get soggy, and we will all have a ‘pea race’ to see who’s grows the tallest!
Next it was craft time ... we made giant flowers using patterned paper and giant googly eyes. This was great fun!
At the end of Vikki’s visit we went outside for a gummy worm parachute game ... we worked together and made the worms bounce very very high in the air... we thought they were going to land on the roof!
We loved having Vikki visit our class and loved telling her all the things we know about Minibeasts and growing things.
