Today in P3, we solved a problem all about scarves! A perfect problem for a very cold day in January.
The problem was all about patterns and we needed to figure out what would be the next colour in Susan’s scarf based on her granny’s pattern. The problem asked us to work out what colour the 26th stripe would be.
As a class, we read the question and used our RUCSAC skills to underline any important words, chose materials to help us solve the problem and then set to work to solve it!
The children used colouring pencils to draw lines, used the boxes in their books, used cubes and some even made their own paper scarf.
Once we had figured out the correct answer we checked our work again with another method to see if we were right!
