Run around Ireland challenge!
Over the past few weeks, P6 have been taking part in the ‘Run around Ireland’ challenge. Each day we go outside for a walk, run or jog and record the distance that we have covered.
We were surprised at how many maths skills we had to use! First we had to measure out the distance with a trundle wheel. We then had to take it in turns to count how many laps we cover as a class and multiply this by 0.2km. Today as a class, in total, we covered 42.2km. So far as a class we have covered the distance to Slieve Donard, The Giant’s Causeway and Malin head. We can’t wait to work out our total at the end of next week and see how many more landmarks in Ireland that we can reached! ☘️ 🏃♀️
