Space Week - Day 2
Once again, we’ve had another great day of learning all about ‘Space.’ We’ve loved seeing all your fantastic rockets and all the new, inventive ways that you have been learning. I received this video of Isla (P1 and new Space X employee), using a straw to ‘blast off’ her own little rocket. A really great idea that can be tried at home! Also, Caitlin (P6) and Lara Sweeny (Nursery) both worked together to make this Fantastic NASA rocket. We’re so impressed with your efforts and the attention to detail on the rocket. Well done girls!
We’ve also had messages and pictures telling us all about how you have been using art to learn about space. As well as enjoying our Space topic Bella (P2) has had a very busy weekend celebrating her Birthday and turning 6. She tells me that she had a social distancing party with her friend Oliver where they played in the garden and shared a unicorn cake. She is very excited about space week and is looking forward to getting back into her rocket costume from earlier in the year. She got to look at the moon and venus through her telescope, but said she couldn't see any aliens. Thank goodness for that Bella! Lily May (P5) used chalk to create this beautiful scene of the night sky above Portaferry. I love how you have used the different colours to recreate the stars and the sky. Hope everyone is keeping well. Aoibhinn (P2) also got creative today while learning about the moon. She used a balloon and mixed paint to make grey for the surface. She also used some foam pieces to make moon rocks. Well done girls, we hope that you had fun!
Well done to all our space explorers today! If you want to get involved, send any pictures to kgreen727@c2kni.net.
