STEM Week
This week was STEM week in St. Mary's.
In P6 the children were set the task of making a catapult using only lollypop sticks, elastic bands and bottle tops. They children explored and tested various ideas before making their final catapults.
They all had great fun firing pompoms around the class! (it's not every day you get to do that!!).
There was also a serious science element to the task. The children experimented with modifying their catapults to get them to fire further, fire higher or indeed to fire shorter distances. Some even created targets to try to hit or land close to.
Check out our pictures and videos of the action!
