The Final Day of our Make, Bake, Grow and Learn Challenge!

15th May 2020

A big 'Thank You' to everyone that has taken part in our 'Make, Bake, Grow and Learn' challenges.Thank you for making it such a success for the children with the so much involvement and positivity from the whole schooling community. We hope that all the photographs and videos have inspired you and your family to 'get back to some wonderful basics' and to try out some new ideas, strategies and 'Links' too. We know that these are unprecedented, challenging times but continue to be creative, be inventive and seek support. Just 'have a go!'. If it works... continue. If it doesn't... change it up a bit but the main thing is to keep learning in so many ways as 'Together, we can make a difference'.

The first of our 'Leading Learners' today is Jay (P4). Jay has been reading about and researching 'Dinosaurs' and decided to do some wonderful art work. Fantastic Jay! Cain (P3) has been learning all about 'Pirates' and got very creative when he made his own pirate telescope and eye patch. He also wrote a message in a bottle and sent it out to sea. Great work Cain and you will have to get back and tell us if you get a reply! Anya (P7) has been researching on the computer, working on spellings, tending to her plants and making the most amazing heart shaped cheesecakes. Wonderful Anya and you have been a very busy girl! Lucy (P6) read the classic story of 'White Fang' and now her AR word count is up to 2,273,723. At school she would haver been presented with a double millionaire certificate at assembly. Great work! She also had time to make fruit kebabs for dessert last night. Wow Lucy! Ruairi (P2) made a very colourful 'Hurley Shape Monster'. Brilliant Maths and Art Ruairi - i love the colurs! The Collins girls were also very busy learners this week with everything from Mini-beast hunts, to beanstalks and wonderful Maths, English and Art too. Fantastic girls. Isla (P1) has been dancing her way through lockdown and has completed her single jig with a little help from her big sister Eva-Marie and online dance teacher. Wonderful Isla! Oscar (P1) found a fun way of learning numbers and words by writing them on eggshells and smashing the correct answer. Smashing work Oscar! James (P4) learned to skim stones with his left hand this week. He was very proud of this achievement as he has faced adversity with his right hand being broken. We are so proud of you too for sticking at it and being a problem solver James. Fantastic!
