Today P6 had a visit from some Vikings from the Magnus Viking Association and the Ballydugan Medieval Settlement.
They showed the children weapons, shields, helmets, brooches, jewellery inscribed with runes, a drinking horn and a device for removing ear wax!!!
The children loved every second and were completely captivated. They particularly enjoyed the demonstrations using the weapons!
As a follow up the Vikings will return in March to collect our shield designs for a competition that will be displayed as part of a Viking festival in Strangford and Portaferry.
