Tuesday 9th June 2020 - Book Balance and Bat and Ball Challenge - Part 3
The Mullan family had great fun with today's challenges. After the book balancing, Gwen (Nursery) needed her big sister Erin (P7) to help her to use the tennis racket. Meanwhile their poor mum was worried that her house would not survive! Matthew (P4) also really enjoyed these challenges.
Sophia (P4) managed 4 books on her head for 1 min 10 secs while going round an obstacle course and 69 bounces of the ball on the bat. Olivia (Nursery) had 2 books on her head for 25 seconds and 6 bounces of the ball on the bat. Adam (p4) and Lucy (Nursery) again enjoyed today’s challenge. Adam managed to do two laps of the obstacle course balancing a book on his head and Lucy managed four steps. Adam bounced his Hurley ball 24 times on his Hurley stick without dropping it and Lucy achieved three bounces using her bat. Cain (P3) balanced his book for 40 seconds and achieved 43 hits with his bat and ball in 30 seconds.
Isla (P2) and EvaMarie (P5) had lots of fun on the obstacle course around grannies garden, some dancing stretchers were twisted into the obstacle course but going up and down the steps was the tricky bit.
Kayleigh (P1) definitely found today a real challenge! She did a lap of her obstacle course with her book on her head and got nowhere near 30 seconds but managed 10 bounces with her ball and frisby. Ellie (P5) managed 2 1/2 laps around obstacles in her garden in a time of 51 seconds before dropping the book and using her hurl for the bat and ball challenge she managed 79 in the 30 seconds. Dante (P6) could only manage to balance a book on his head for about 5 seconds but in challenge 2 he managed 63 hits in 30 seconds. Jamie (P3) balancing his book on his around his teddies and then got to bounce a few balls with the frying pan.
Jack (P6) managed 2mins 31secs in the book balance and was delighted to have beaten Mrs O'Neills time! He found the bat and ball a little more difficult and managed 45 taps with his hurling stuck. . Keelan (P4) and Brooke (P2) had great fun doing the Book Challenge, with a make-shift obstacle course in the kitchen. Keelan completed two laps in 1min 40sec with Brooke finishing 1 lap in 58 secs. The Bat & Ball Challenge was challenging to say the least, but after a few practices and opting for a golf ball and hurl, Keelan was delighted to get 55 bounces in 30 seconds. Brooke was a little rusty as she claimed she ‘hasn’t played Camogie since she was 3!!’ 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️and got 8 bounces. Joel (P5) took 43 seconds and Dervla (P7) 30 seconds.
Carli (P4) managed 82 taps with the hurl and 3 laps of a obstacle course. Bradan and Aoibhe did their bat and ball challenge on the beach. Aoibhe also made a message out of stones. Ava (P3) managed 2 laps of her downstairs as it was raining, balancing one of get favourite Roald Dahl books 'Matilda.' Chris is loving these challenges. He kept the book on his head for 39 seconds completing 1 and a half laps and he bounced the ball in the frying pan 7 times.
