What a busy week!
We have had a VERY busy week in P3. We hope you enjoy looking at some photos of us as we investigated the edges and corners of 3D shapes by building them with cocktail sticks and play doh! It was great fun. Some shapes were really tricky. We made cubes, cuboids, square based pyramids, and even discovered new shapes for P3 like triangular and pentagonal based pyramids!!! Also this week we designed pirate flags, both in the ICT room using Word and on paper. We enjoyed using Lego to build pirate things like ships, cannons, cutlasses, pistols and of course the pirates themselves. On the computer we were able to practise our doubles, even up to double 100 (in tens) as well as using compass directions to direct a flight to deliver supplies for someone stranded on a desert island. As if this wasn't enough, we also investigated floating and sinking, looking at how different materials and shapes of things affect whether something floats or sinks. We touched on absorption as well. I think the P3 class definitely deserve a week off!
